Abstract

This study is about the crimes committed by police officers and the role of the prosecutor about it. Today in our country corruption invades us uncontrollably, there is more and more resentment on the part of the public citizens, and less and less confidence in the institutions, as well as less confidence in their transparency of them. The police are servants of the citizenry, they have the duty to guarantee the safety of citizens through the axes, this is the way in which they fight delinquency and crime in our country. The police are the heart of the country, they carry out their duties from training based on rights, investigation, prevention and control of crimes, under values and principles, they also contribute significantly in judicial processes, both to the prosecutor and the judge. This is why we are outraged that the police commit crimes, but at the same time it´s important to know how the prosecutor acts in these cases of crimes of public action or crimes committed by a police officer. The prosecutor has the power to act together with the police to find evidence and has their support during the process and at the same time the police have the duty to act under what the prosecutor indicates since it is their support during the investigation. The role of the prosecutor is important since the course of the investigation is for the effectiveness of justice, for instance, in this investigation we will see everything that the legal system provides to the prosecutor to be able to act, also we will review the norms under which the police act in cases of crimes. We will also see how these laws are related to each other, what is the procedure in terms of prior investigation and the procedure that the police suppose under their regime in crimes committed by the same police.
