Los factores de riesgo psicosociales de los adultos mayores que habitan en el área rural del cantón Daule.

Abstract

The present investigation proposes an analysis about the psychosocial risk factors of the older adults who live in the rural area of the Daule canton, oriented to identify the psychosocial risk factors that affect the older adults who live in the rural area of the Daule canton. of the province of Guayas in order to propose actions to the municipality for the comprehensive care of the elderly population in rural sectors. The study considered a mixed type approach taking into account processes of both qualitative and quantitative types. Likewise, it required an exploratory and descriptive scope and an inductive methodology. The population of this study constituted the 3470 older adults that make up the rural area, while the sample was integrated by a total of 100 older adults from the rural Limonal parish and 3 experts to whom a survey and an interview were applied respectively. The results of the investigation showed that among the main psycho-affective risk factors, aspects such as social isolation, loss of autonomy, family abandonment, as well as the indifference they receive from their families are highlighted, while regarding their socioeconomic condition it is found in an unfavorable situation that significantly affects their quality of life, requiring greater attention from the local government.
