Riesgo cardiovascular en pacientes con artritis inflamatoria del Centro Médico IRHED 2020-2022.

Abstract

Background. Inflammatory arthritis are a group of pathologies characterized by pain, swelling and tenderness in the joints, in addition with morning stiffness. Those with an autoimmune etiology include rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), Sjögren's syndrome (SS) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). One of the most worrisome complications in the evolution of these pathologies are those of cardiovascular origin. Objective: To evaluate the cardiovascular risk in patients with inflammatory arthritis at the IRHED Medical Center. Methodology: This is an observational, analytical, cross-sectional, relational and retrospective study. The population includes patients with one of the five arthritis studied who attended the IRHED Medical Center during the period 2020-2022. Results: 133 patients were studied. The majority were women (89%) and a mean age of 56.8 ± 9.3 was obtained. The predominant risk factors were dyslipidemia (45%) and hypertension (45%). Three of the four calculators established that the group with the highest CVR was PsA. The Mayo Clinic calculator provided the highest CVR values (26.6 ± 16.6). The factors that have a greater statistical association with CVR in most of the calculators are SBP and HT, followed by BMI, dyslipidemia, male gender, smoking, and statin therapy. Conclusion: The highest CVR is presented by patients with AS and PsA, and the calculator that estimates it highest is that of the Mayo Clinic.
