Evaluación del cultivo de la vainilla ante el uso de tres productos orgánicos bajo el sistema de casa malla.

Abstract

Vanilla, being the only aromatic orchid with edible fruits, belonging to the tropical regions of America, has a wide use in several industries, who take advantage of its unique properties, both flavour and smell, to give rise to various relevant products. Therefore, this research work had as general objective to evaluate the morphological behaviour of the vanilla crop before the use of different organic fertilizers and it was carried out at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil. The cuttings used were of the vanilla variety Vanilla planifolia var. tahitensis, which were established under a greenhouse system with the use of saran mesh at 50 % luminosity, with daily irrigation, maintaining the substrate based on rice chaff and farm soil with the required humidity. The experimental design was completely randomized with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions, 36 cuttings were selected to measure the variables height of plants, number of leaves and thickness of the stems, the data were recorded every 8 days until day 56; and the application of organic fertilizers was carried out every 14 days. The data were analysed by means of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and to evaluate the differences between treatments, the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test (P < 0.05) was obtained, using the InfoStat program. The biol-based treatment (T2) presented the best results in terms of plant height and stem thickness, and in terms of costs, a total of USD 356.00 will be completed.
