Abstract

Tooth sensitivity is a common complaint from patients in dental practices. Studies have shown that dentin hypersensitivity affects 10-30% of the population. The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of post-whitening dental sensitivity in patients of the ninth cycle of semester B-2021-2022. The methodology used was retrospective, cross-sectional and the design of descriptive, non-experimental research. The sample will be chosen by the non-probabilistic method of selection for convenience in patients with post-whitening dental sensitivity. It can be determined that dental sensitivity is noticeable in patients who have had dental whitening procedures; The use of periodic desensitizers reduces the incidence of dentin hypersensitivity, which translates into minimal postoperative sensitivity, for this reason it can be said that the use of desensitizing products is beneficial for the patient, since they allow shorter and safer interventions. .
