Nivel de conocimiento sobre traumatismos dentales en odontólogos y especialistas de odontología de la provincia del Guayas.

Abstract

Introduction: Dental traumatisms are very frequent both in childhood and in adolescence, inclusively, they are considered as the second main reason for dental consultation, followed by dental caries. It is a type of trauma that covers both supporting tissues and dental pieces, and in many cases, causing a fracture; due to this, it causes a great impact on a psychological and social level. Objective: Identify the level of knowledge about dental trauma in dentists and dentistry specialists in the province of Guayas. Materials and methods: This research work has a quantitative approach, the type is cross-sectional prospective, and its design is descriptive, not experimental. It consisted of a sample of 60, between general dentists and specialists, it was carried out under a physical and digital survey, with the help of the Google Forms platform. Finally, the correct registration and tabulation of data was carried out through statistical processes. Results: According to the variables presented, it was possible to have as a result that endodontists and pediatric dentists consider Hank's balanced solution as the best vehicle to transport an avulsed tooth. Regarding the other variables, for the most part, endodontists and pediatric dentists obtained the most assertive results. Conclusions: It was possible to conclude that the level of knowledge about the management of dental trauma in endodontics and pediatric dentistry specialists is high.
