Abstract

Introduction: The importance of appearance in the frontal area of the mouth and the need for durable solutions prompted this study to explore composite resin restoration techniques in anterior teeth as a response to the challenges of esthetic and functional rehabilitation. Objective: To identify the restoration techniques with composite resin in anterior teeth used by students at the UCSG Dental Clinic. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative investigation was carried out based on surveys of students from the Eighth to Tenth cycle at the UCSG clinic, with a sample of 103 students. Analysis and discussion of results: Students prefer to make direct restorations when it comes to the anterior sector, mostly using the silicone guide technique, with composite resin being the material of first choice. When selecting polishing materials, discs were chosen as the most used, and finally, absolute isolation was the preferred technique in this case. Conclusion: It could be said that there is a clearer idea of which are the materials and techniques of choice or preference when making restorations with resin in anterior teeth, in the UCSG dental clinic, it should be emphasized that each case is different, therefore, the selection and adaptation of materials must be based on the individual evaluation of each situation.
