Las medidas de protección y su eficacia para reducir la violencia contra la mujer.

Abstract

A scientific article was carried out with the title "Protection measures and their effectiveness in the prevention of violence against women", which had the general objective of comprehensively analyzing the effectiveness of the protection measures implemented in the prevention of violence against women. This research was exploratory in nature. A qualitative approach was used, where the bibliographic review, analysis of the legal foundation in the Ecuadorian legal system about protection measures was used as research techniques. It is determined that the protection measures in Ecuador have proven to be a positive step in the prevention and fight against gender violence, but it is necessary to address the limitations and challenges to achieve a more effective system. It is proposed to carry out a series of reforms to the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP) that seeks to improve the protection and access to justice for victims of sexual abuse, with a particular focus on women, girls, boys and adolescents. In a context in which gender violence continues to be a serious problem, these modifications represent a significant advance to strengthen the Ecuadorian judicial system and the attention to those who have suffered these conflictive situations. It is concluded that, in order to maximize the effectiveness of the proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Criminal Code (COIP), it is essential to guarantee a coherent and coordinated implementation throughout the judicial system. Respect for the integrity of women should be promoted.
