Abstract

Aesthetics in today's dentistry is becoming more and more relevant. In order to achieve this harmony, a set of structures must be taken into consideration that will allow us to get closer to what we perceive as beauty. Facial and dental shape is one of the important elements. to consider. Objective: Determine if there is a relationship between facial type and the dental morphology of the upper incisors. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional and descriptive observational study was carried out on 100 patients from the UCSG dental clinic between 17 and 50 years old. According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, they gave us a total of 50 patients. It was determined using intraoral photographs. and extraoral, which were analyzed with the help of software which allowed us to make tracings and measurements in order to determine the shape of the incisors and the facial shape. Result: Of the 50 patients evaluated, it was determined that only 44% of the patients There was a relationship between facial shape and the morphology of the upper central incisors. In relation to sex, 34% of males had a coincidence of relationship between facial shape and dental morphology, while in females, 66% had a coincidence between facial shape and dental morphology. Conclusion: It is concluded that According to the results obtained, there is no relationship between facial shape and dental morphology.
