El impacto de la IA y Legaltech un vacío legal en el Ecuador.

Abstract

In the present, we see how the digital revolution, propelled by modern Artificial Intelligence technology, is creating a rapid and transcendent situation in the midst of the 21st century. This could be compared to a new industrial revolution, especially in countries that, regardless of their economy or cultural development, could implement this technology, as is the case with Ecuador. The legal space, whether at a local or international level, has not been an exception to the influence of AI. In Ecuador, a country with a questionably experimental legal tradition due to its modernist constitution, an inheritance from governments whose ideas first emerged in 2008, the incorporation of AI technologies in the present year 2024 could mark the beginning of a new and accessible legal era for all. This situation prompts questions based on multiple variables. The increasing digitization and the need for efficiency, now commonly referred to as LegalTech, along with the processing power of AIs in many legal studies or where legal consultations are offered, by businesses and governmental entities, could be the generative focal point for changes addressed in this research. Focusing on fundamental questions about how AIs are redefining work practices in the Ecuadorian legal field.
