Valoración del dominio cognitivo perceptual en pacientes adultos con enfermedad renal crónica del Hospital General del Norte de Guayaquil IESS Los Ceibos de Guayaquil.

Abstract

The Perceptual Cognitive Domain in adult patients with chronic kidney disease presents a variety of potential abilities and challenges, underscoring the importance of addressing these aspects in their comprehensive medical care. Objective: To assess the Perceptual Cognitive Domain in adult patients with chronic kidney disease at the General Hospital of the North of Guayaquil IESS Los Ceibos of Guayaquil. Methodological Design: descriptive, quantitative, prospective, cross-sectional study. Population: 100 young adult, adult and elderly patients from the nephro-gastro area, dialysis area and intermediate care area. Technique: Survey. Instrument: Questionnaire. Results: Age: 36 to 64 years (60%), male (68%), married (34%). Level of academic instruction: secondary (40%), who come from urban areas (73%). They presented a normal cognitive assessment (56%). According to the cognitive alterations, they respond accurately to the day, month and year (85%), indicate the correct place (50%), respond correctly to the mathematical operation (80%) and respond to the day of the week correctly (90%). Regarding perceptual alterations, he did not report pain (80%). Regarding behavioral alterations, they manage to rest (50%), present irritability (60%), restlessness (80%), social isolation (100%) and do not have self-harming behaviors (80%). Conclusion: It is evident that a large part of the patients with chronic kidney disease, the cognitive assessment was normal, presenting few cognitive, perceptual and behavioral alterations. It is important to continue implementing specific interventions to improve your quality of life and your management of the disease.
