Vulneración de los derechos a la salud en pacientes con enfermedades catastróficas y su dificultad de acceso a medicamentos del sistema público, Hospital del IESS de Guaranda, 2023.

Abstract

The objective of this investigation is to determine the violation of Human Rights and, specifically, the rights to health in patients with catastrophic diseases due to the difficulty of access to medicines from the public system, in the IESS Hospital of Guaranda and the responsibility of the Ecuadorian State. Thus, through a mixed investigation with a descriptive level of depth, where the different variables that were used to describe the topic under study were analyzed (independent variable: Difficulty of patients with catastrophic diseases in accessing medications and dependent variable: Violation of the right to health). It was concluded that patients with catastrophic diseases face significant difficulties in accessing medications from the public health system in Ecuador; due to: the high cost and shortage of medications, followed by the lack of information and guidance; In this way, it is necessary for the National Government to implement clear and effective public policies to guarantee access to quality, safe and effective medicines.
