Análisis de factibilidad y diseño de una red FTTH para la urbanización Polaris.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to assess the technical and economic feasibility of implementing a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network in the Polaris development. The hypothesis was that the FTTH network would be viable in both aspects and would meet the connectivity needs of residents, improving internet speed and stability and, consequently, productivity, online learning and entertainment. It was anticipated that this technology would attract new residents and businesses, promoting the economic and social development of the community. The research employed a descriptive and mixed approach to provide a comprehensive view of the project’s feasibility. Qualitative methods were used to understand the perceptions and expectations of residents and providers, through checklists and documentary analysis. Quantitative methods focused on numerical data on internet speed, implementation costs and demand projections. The combination of both approaches allowed for a comprehensive evaluation. The findings confirmed the technical and economic feasibility of the FTTH network, highlighting significant benefits for residents. It was recommended to choose high-quality equipment suppliers, adjust the budget according to the market, and maintain a communication and ongoing maintenance plan. These actions seek to optimize implementation and maximize benefits for the Polaris community.
