Miriam: de la cuidadora del Otro a la guardiana (des)medida.

Abstract

The Miriam case will be worked on considering three fundamental levels for psychoanalysis: the descriptive, dynamic and structural level. This methodology allows us to identify the problem that Miriam presents to us in this case. For the development of this case analysis, the ghost of hysteria and excessive dedication through the patient's sayings and actions will be taken as a fundamental point. The key components of this analysis allow us to identify defense mechanisms relating to childhood experiences and experiences of loss to avoid facing their own unconscious desires and fears. Through dialogue and interpretation, we learn that she was involved in family dramas, from her father's infidelity to the death of her sister's husband. Her life has been characterized by being anchored and taken from the significant caretaker of others, which has moved from the desire to help the other to the sacrificial and (im)measured other of her own ambitions, positioning herself as a guardian at the mercy of others. On the other hand, identification with the mother points to a hysterical identification, which influences the perception of her relationship with others and the meaning that life has from these family heralds. Her entire life has been marked by a compulsive repetition of care and sacrifice coordinators that have led Miriam to her symptomatic position: excessive sacrifice.
