Abstract

This degree project is based on the development of an Architectural Design project for the German Ecuadorian Cultural Center, which has been carrying out its activities in the Old Kennedy citadel since 1999. A study and critical analysis of this space of education and culture is carried out, taking into account the various social and physical conditions in the sector, with the aim of identifying the main needs of the institution and its various users. This aims to establish an analysis of the current construction situation to propose a new project that will solve the current problems and, at the same time, provide functionality and flexibility to the areas needed. The aim is that the spaces can be modified for various activities, depending on what is required, and are able to meet the diverse needs of the cultural centre. The architecture project seeks to strengthen the intercultural link that promotes cultural exchange and collaboration between Ecuador and Germany. From an architectural point of view, it will contribute by providing a flexible, efficient and practical space for its users and visitors.
