Percepciones de los y las jóvenes de la Generación Z frente al conflicto armado en Ecuador durante el período 2024.

Abstract

This research analyzes the perceptions of generation Z in Ecuador on the internal armed conflict experienced in 2024. From a mixed approach, combining quantitative and qualitative through surveys and interviews with young university students, the results reveal that the generation studied perceives the conflict as a constant challenge to their security and well-being, associating it with the increase in organized crime and state corruption. However, despite their connection to digital information, their understanding of the issue tends to be fragmented by social networks. The research highlights the need to reinforce civic education and promote the acquisition of information in a more critical manner. It is concluded that the lack of trust in the institutions of the governmental system and the increase of violence have generated feelings of anger and fear in this generation, which sustains the importance of public policies focused on the eradication of the conflict.
