Masculinidades hegemónicas : construcción de hombres de 18 a 35 años de la ciudad de Guayaquil, 2024.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the exercise of hegemonic masculinity, its cultural archetypes that prolong it and how it affects the personal and emotional growth of men between 18 and 35 years of age in the city of Guayaquil. The study has a qualitative approach, of descriptive type, using the phenomenological method, the sample taken was by means of interviews to 5 men between 18 and 35 years of age, of the city of Guayaquil, who are in different vital periods of their life, that is to say, university students, graduates, married and forming their family and have the predisposition to participate voluntarily in the study. For the analysis of the data, axial coding was applied. As a result, it was found that social norms affect various aspects of men's lives, making it difficult for them to develop as they feel that society is under constant surveillance.
