Abstract

Conceiving a sports city in Guayaquil, Ecuador for the sports team Emelec presents interesting challenges, such as urban conception, the interpretation of the club’s and the city’s background, and how both converge on 32 hectares, as well as the correct location of each space in the extensive program presented. The following thesis presents an extensive analysis and interpretation of a problem presented for one of the selected spaces of the extensive program, which is the clinical area.At the request of the club’s leaders, the clinical area must meet sports needs validated by international organizations that govern football while also complying with all national regulations mentioned in the health ministry codes. All these codes must be resolved without losing the architectural homogeneity of the sports city and, most importantly, must speak the same economic language that the leaders prepared for the club’s plans with results in posterity. The clin ical area must present spaces and have taken into account the business model that will allow this same area to be maintained while allocating a certain part of the pro-fifts to the club, so that each área designed in this sports city reflects positive accounts to the leaders, allowing for uniform growth and distribution toward other spaces in the city, expanding its reach in sports to other disciplines. Economically, a solid financing model must balance the initial investment, operational costs, and income opportunities, such as rentals, events, and memberships. The creation of jobs both in construction and operation is another important benefit. Finally, user experience is optimized with designs that prioritize comfort, security, and technology, offering sports infrastructure that meets local needs while promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
