Abstract

The modernization of registry and notary systems in Ecuador has become a fundamental aspect of strengthening and directing their effect on legal protection, facilitating speed in administrative procedures. This context allows us to examine the evolution of these systems in the context of the digital age and technological transformation, identifying advances, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. In this regard, this research is based on examining the process of modernizing the registry and notary systems in Ecuador, identifying their advances, limitations, and opportunities for improvement in public service. To this end, the regulatory framework governing these processes is developed and analyzed, including the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador and other legal norms and regulations. Using descriptive, comparative, and hermeneutic methods focused on regulatory analysis, the benefits and challenges associated with the digitization of the registry system, fraud reduction, administrative efficiency, implementation costs, and the need to ensure the protection of personal data were examined. It was concluded that the application of efficient digital technologies guarantees more equitable and adequate access to promote institutional efficiency. At the same time, it is recommended to strengthen institutional interoperability to achieve agility and reliability in legal processes.
