Nivel de satisfacción estética y funcional en pacientes rehabilitados con carillas dentales en la Clínica odontológica UCSG, período B-2025.

Abstract

Objective: To determine the level of aesthetic and functional satisfaction in patients rehabilitated with dental veneers at the Dental Clinic of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil during the period B-2025. Materials and methods: A quantitative, cross-sectional, observational, and analytical study was conducted on 65 patients rehabilitated with dental veneers. A non-probabilistic convenience sampling method was used. The evaluation included three phases: clinical assessment using the criteria of the International Dental Federation, evaluation of the smile design, and application of an aesthetic and functional satisfaction questionnaire with a Likert scale. Descriptive statistics and Fisher's exact test were applied with a significance level of less than 0.05. Results: 76.9% indicated that the main reason was aesthetics, 96.9% preferred a natural smile, and 93.8% preferred a natural tooth color. 69.2% stated that their expectations were fully met. The mean scores were 9.65 for the mock-up, 9.77 for tooth color, and 9.83 for smile satisfaction. Functional evaluation was clinically good in 73.8% of cases, and aesthetic evaluation was clinically good in 75.4%. Functional satisfaction was high in 100% of cases, and aesthetic satisfaction was high in 64.6%. Conclusion: Patients rehabilitated with dental veneers showed a high level of aesthetic and functional satisfaction. The majority reported that the results met their expectations and preferred natural-looking outcomes.
