| Abstract: | Introduction: Dental loss in the anterior zone triggers bone resorption that compromises gingival aesthetics, necessitating immediate intervention to prevent soft tissue collapse. A splinted acrylic provisional acts as a seal that protects bone regeneration and guides healing. Objective: To determine, through photographic evaluation, the observed influence of the splinted acrylic provisional restoration on the gingival contour, the interdental papillae, and the condition of the soft tissues following tooth extraction and guided bone regeneration in the anterior region. Methodology: A quantitative, observational, and descriptive study was conducted on 30 patients of the University of Education treated with extraction and GBR. Tissue status was evaluated through photographic analysis using the Pink Esthetic Score (PES). Results: The PES components with the highest averages were texture (1.50) and tissue color (1.47), while alveolar process deficiency obtained the lowest score (0.70). Most cases (86.7%) featured convex profiles. Conclusion: In the evaluated sample, the use of the splinted acrylic provisional restoration was associated with favorable outcomes in several components of soft tissue architecture, particularly in texture and color, as well as with high patient-reported satisfaction. |
