Teatro - Biblioteca Municipal Bahía de Caráquez.

Abstract

The following work contains the development of a proposal for a Theater/Library in the city of Bahia de Caráquez. The project is developed on a vertical axis that goes over and integrates the spaces dedicated to these cultural activities. This axis is thought as a timeline with three instances: the past, present, and future. The past symbolizes the urban history and the preservation of historic elements; the present is related to the spaces given by the program such as classrooms, a library, and a theater; finally, the future is achieved by enabling a subjective change to the users while they are moving in each one of these spaces, specially the library and the theater during the shows. The intern spaces of the route, play with the perception of the user through the five senses using visuals, materials, and elements that generate light and shadows.
