Arreglo musical de un Pasillo ecuatoriano en formato de quinteto vocal, aplicando recursos orquestales del arreglista Darmon Meader.

Abstract

The main reason for the realization of this research was the need to innovate in the way of arranging national music for vocal formats, for that reason it was decided to make an arrangement of an Ecuadorian “Pasillo” applying the orchestration techniques of Darmon Meader, the arranger of the vocal group "New York Voices". The present titling work has a qualitative approach and is based on the methods deductive and of observation. The instruments of data collection used are thesis of musical production, musical journals, books, interviews, transcriptions of musical themes and analysis of audios and sheet music. There arrangements studied were "Round Midnight" and "Stolen Moments", from which it was possible to extract information about the orchestration techniques of Darmon Meader, that were later applied in the Ecuadorian “Pasillos” "Ángel de Luz". At the end of this titling work, the feasibility of the scope and approach of the proposal was demonstrated. It is hoped that the results obtained will serve as an incentive for arrangers, vocal groups and musicians in general who wish to innovate in autochthonous subjects using new proposals of orchestration.
