Teatro Biblioteca Bahía de Caráquez.

Abstract

The present titling work "Teatro Biblioteca Bahía de Caráquez" arises from the need of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Bahía de Caráquez, since in the earthquake of April 16, 2017 the majority of its constructions were destroyed, among them the old theater of the city. Therefore, thanks to the collaboration of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Catholic University, the project was presented as a titling work. The project consists of a Theater with capacity for 500 people, in addition the project should contain spaces destined to other different activities, among them cafeteria, library, workshops, administration. The project is located in the historical center of the city, an economically active sector before the earthquake. Therefore, the project must reactivate the sector's economy, generating flexible public spaces that can contain different recreational and cultural activities.
