Abstract

This document contains the development of the preliminary project for the Municipal Library Theater of Bahía de Caráquez of the Cantón Sucre, Province of Manabí - Ecuador; which goes from the critical analysis, the decision-making against the conditioners found, the design criteria that respond to the problems and the result of this process together with the planimetry and support material for the interpretation of the project. The proposal reflects broad spaces abroad creating public spaces, trying to recover and improve the activities of the former Municipal Library Theater, affected by the earthquake of April 16th, 2016. Using the two facades, east and west of the project, a double mobile facade is generated with sustainable and bioclimatic criteria; taking into account the direct connection and the versatility of the plaza - stage spaces. Different situations are generated within the aforementioned spaces such as film screening, concerts or as a meeting point. It is proposed to implant a tower in representation of the old lighthouse to generate the user to identify with the project, this element having a double function, being a tower projection and as a landmark.
