Abstract

The Esmeraldas Port Authority Statistics and Marketing Unit (APE) has been storing information on a computer in scattered Excel files,which means that there is no order for storage. This means that, at the moment of having to generate reports that include comparative tables of the operations developed in the port during certain periods of time, the person in charge of this activity must initiatea process of manual search to extract the data, in order to make a consolidated report of theinformation. Today it is necessary to innovate and automatethe processes to generate efficient and effective information that allow an easy and bettervisualization of the statistical results, which in turn minimizes time and delivery of analytical reports. Therefore, software is proposed that will globalize and integrate the portprocesses including port statistics of cargo movement. In relativity the study of this work allows usto demonstrate that the implementation of the present project will allow the APE to improve the level of response for the generation of technical reports for the analysis and decision making increasing the efficiency of the different departments that make up the APE, therefore it is extremely important to analyze the proposal that is included in the present investigation in order to be implemented in the short term in the company.
