Abstract

In the present paper we will analyze the case of Magdalena, a patient with a hysterical structure who requests a emergency clinic consultation, manifesting some symptoms in the body and a choked voice, accompanied by cries that later did not allow her to speak. This scene was the result of her husband did not want to be with her anymore, being unfaithful to Magdalena, and he wanted to take some time to think if it was worth the relationship; but in spite of the situation she placed him as someone respectful and affectionate. Infidelities will not be new for her, because her father an important pharmacist had cheated his mother, who was dedicated to home. And in adulthood, Magdale who was devoted tona was recognized for her accomplishments and successes in both academic and labor, her figure being more emphasized in the home; but in the parental relationship she was shown as tolerant and understanding in front of any problem, reaching an idealized figure or covering an optimal reality that will soon be dismantled, due to the absence of signifiers that could answer the question about femininity. Our title and approach to work will be: being a wife - being a woman. On purpose of Magdalena's femininity.
