Abstract

In the following clynical case of Berta, called Espectator for this analysis, we see a particular manifestation of the hysterical neurosis. The most important symptoms and details to make a diagnosis will be the ones that seem more insignificant or that would tend to go unnoticed. This hysteria is characterized for the belle indifférence, for the belle âme of the subject. This way of positioning herself will leave her precisely as the Espectator of her own life, being appart of the scenarios of her life and her relationships, looking in from the outside. This indifference and also the jouissance of deprivation is what will reinforce this position. Also, important distintions about the hysteria as structura and the feminine position will be made. This distintions will have an important role in this case.
