Esteban, entre el ser y no ser.

Abstract

"Esteban, between being and not being" is the case of a man who finds himself in a hysterical neurosis with the choice of an object of homosexual love, and in order to reach this diagnosis, a journey was made through manifestations, dreams and memories of the patient. Likewise terms were used from the point of view of psychoanalysis as a symptom, trauma, phantom, among others to be able to perform the analysis of this case that are related to the theoretical argumentation of different authors that start from the theories used by Freud and Lacan, the most important references in the history of Psychoanalysis. While it is true, it was a bit complicated to make such a diagnosis because there is not enough theoretical tour of the subject since in the past this type of case was not very common. For this purpose, the clinical method or case study method was used, which highlighted the particularity and allowed for a rigorous analysis of Esteban's subjective position, his sayings and actions, thus allowing his symptomatic manifestations to spin to signifiers that they derived in complaints and dissatisfactions throughout their life.
