Abstract

The present work of Titling arises from the need to convert Durán city into a source of teaching and social encounter, leads to the planning of the Public Library project. Its purpose is to create a scenario of cultural encounter that allows the creation of spaces where different activities aimed at reading and contemplation can be carried out. The transition of spaces is an important factor in achieving a connection between users and the environment, creating flexible spaces that allow for the promotion and strengthening of the activities carried out inside and outside the building. The interior-exterior relationship is through public squares, shopping malls and halls. Visuals are projected outwards, creating areas of contemplation to encourage reading. Through contextual and social analysis, nine strategic points are identified that serve as the basis for the development of the project and urban proposal that responds to the programs of library, multifunctional rooms, cafeteria and plaza.
