Abstract

The Academic Services building is located on the campus ofthe Catholic University Santiago de Guayaquil. Theintervention lot is surrounded by faculties, natural elementsand an urban context of low s ocial stratum, which directlyinfluence the interventions posed in the development of theBuilding. On e of them is to synchronize and reactivate thecircuit of the buildings that are framed in the interventi onradius. This is achieved through the establishment of asquare with accessibility that is oriented to the current flowstudy generated by students within the Campus. The mainaccesses are hierarchized by means of high vegetation thatalso works as visual and acoustic buffer before theconditions that the context Raises. On the ground floor thefaculties that surround the Project's terrain areinterconnected, by means of a free plant that works as aconstant link for the users ' circulations. This one alsopresents activities of consumption of short permanencetimes so that it does not prejudice the proposed cont inuouscircuit. With regard to its volumetry, it presents a cantilever incitesthe occupation of the project's surface space. It also has adouble façade that is composed of micro perforated metalplates, with the purpose of reducing the high solarradiations on the facades of the Building. In addition, itfunctions as a temperature degrader for the interiorenvironment, eaves generators of interior shadows, and asan acoustic mattress before the high decibels that occur inthe Campus.
