Abstract

The Berta case analysis is based on the fundamentals of the psychoanalytic theory through which an approach will be made of the characteristic aspects of the hysterical neurosis. The hysterical neurosis that Berta presents focuses on three aspects of this structure: the unsatisfied desire present on her that manifests itself in boycotting herself on her attempts to find a job in order to not to be subject to the demands of the other. On the other hand, another aspect concerns to the enjoyment from deprivation that is manifested on her as a great feeling of exclusion that has lasted throughout her life causing difficulties in the family and social environment and her partner relationship. The third aspect concerns to the response to feminity that she manages to find by the motherhood, a solution that is not favorable because she is not a functional mother for her children because as a reference she had her mother who was aggressive and unaffectionate with her.Based on this theoretical foundation, the case was named "the maternal sheath that mortifies" because this response give her a place as a mother but at the same time it causes many difficulties in the different areas of her life.
