Resumen : The present investigation raises the efficiency of two different Fumigation methods, by drone vs. application with boom in the cultivation of soybeans, the purpose of this Work is based on demonstrating that by means of the percentage of coverage and the relative efficiency depending on the time of each one of the methods it is possible to be defined which has greater productivity in field. The test was carried out in the province of Los Ríos, Mocache Canton, on the Los Colones property located on the Vía Aguas Frías de Medellín. It was an implement through a completely randomized monofactorial design, with 3 treatments and 5 repetitions, giving a total of 15 experimental units. The area that was treated was 15 hectares where soybean (Glycine max) was planted 45 days of sowing, sensitive Hydro papers were randomly distributed to measure the level of coverage and the application time per hectare was taken. The percentage of coverage of each treatment was determined using Adobe Photoshop®, to determine the relative efficiency as a function of time, the procedure des et al. (2016, p. 304) was used. In conclusion, the method of spraying with gable had better coverage with 74 % compared to 61.1 % who had treatment 3 and 41.3 % of treatment 2, who were sprayed with drone. As for the relative efficiency as a function of time, the gable method is more efficient with 82 % vs. the drone with 17.99%, this indicates that the boom has a much higher field productivity than the drone. But, by implementing drone fumigation, water waste, reduction in environmental pollution can be avoided and a higher concentration of active ingredient is obtained with 90% more than the traditional gable method. When evaluating the economic effect between the drone and the gable, we found a higher application cost per hectare with a drone of USA 19.46 compared to USA 16.71.
