Abstract

The following work constitutes the development of a clinical analysis of a case, for which the psychoanalytic theoretical framework was used; This allowed us to account for that particular symptom and its relationship with enjoyment. In addition, conceptual aspects could be worked in relation to maternal havoc and hysteria as part of the structural diagnosis. The case is based on the analysis process of Berta, a 40-year-old woman who comes to consult due to what she explains as difficulties in dealing with her children. The elaboration of the demand allowed to account for a particular exclusion feature in Berta, which is related to its way of enjoyment. This symptom of exclusion accompanies her throughout her life. However, that becomes unbearable when motherhood is put into play. This point about motherhood is of great relevance, since there is a forced identification towards the mother figure. This identification places her as an aggressive woman and leads her to the repetition of the dynamics between the parental couple. Key
