Estudio de factibilidad técnica y económica de una ruta alimentadora de la Troncal 3 : Bastión - Centro del sistema Metrovía hasta Puente Lucía.

Abstract

The present research, is a traffic and transportation engineering project, which addresses the implementation of a feeder bus route, for Metrovia’s Third Trunk. The Metrovia System is the main active transportation systems of the lowest cost in the country, which, for reasons of efficiency in the quality of its passengers transport services, and in response to the increase of demography to the northern sectors, is seen in search of expanding the necessary feeder routes to capture all the demand caused by this increase in traffic of the population. The feeder route to be developed corresponds to: Bastion until Puente Lucia, this includes all the habitants that live along the Perimetral Road and the Daule Road, including the downtown; beacause, the bus fleet will be depart from the new Penitentiary Station, until it reaches the town of Puente Lucia. The passengers that is generated in said population, will be distributed along the stations coming from the Metrovia System, so that it can obtain benefits such as to arrive at differents destinations of the city with a single passage, less travel time and more security, and this ensure that public transport covers more territory and reduces the traffic congestion problems due to the use of private transport.
