Abstract

The design of this book "Salinas, beyond the sea" originates from the scarce material on cultural icons of the Canton. There is brief information in the Tourism Department of the Municipal GAD of Salinas, which has not been sufficient to boost Salinas tourism to the desired levels. Documentary research is applied to obtain information from historical printed documents of relevant cultural, tourist and social points that are being under-promoted. Likewise, the descriptive methodology of qualitative type is used with a vision of interviews, non-participant observation and focus groups, to generate necessary external information and obtain other perspective on the Canton. An informative photographic book containing the most representative points of Salinas is created through editorial design and image editing criteria.
