Abstract

The short film "The House of Lies" is a thriller audiovisual project that arises from the idea of presenting three independent suspense and mystery stories, led by an enigmatic character dedicated to presenting each story. The action takes place in a cemetery and the script maintains the same outline or narrative structure in each story, because they all culminate with a tragic end, full of mystery. However, different characters are recreated and the three stories are not connected. Therefore, different scenarios were devised for each story, rehearsing the three different recording styles: fake documentary, first person and conventional cinema. With this, the production of the short film seeks to experience how the thriller genre becomes more genuine by applying the perspective of each recording style, that is, it achieves a tension in the viewer thanks to the suspenseful atmosphere where the elements of the film are conjugated. Thriller as the mystery, the mystery, the musicalization of the mystery, among others that combine differently in each story. In this way, experimenting with each recording style that makes it possible to create a climax of the thriller genre oriented for the media's enjoyment of the audience.
