Abstract

Introduction: The smile is one of the most important factors in people's facial aesthetics. Therefore, specialists are incorporating facial aesthetics in their treatment plan, to achieve a harmonious and youthful smile in people. Objectives: To determine the level of smile satisfaction in students from 6th to 8th cycle of the UCSG of the semester A 2020. Materials and methods: This research work is a study with a quantitative approach of a descriptive and prospective transversal type, the population was made up of 127 students from the dental career. It was carried out through digital surveys, by the Microsoft Forms platform. Results: The students expressed that 80% do not show their gums much when smiling and the remaining 20% if they show gums when smiling, the gender most affected by poor dental aesthetics with 72% being female, followed by a lower percentage by males 28%. Conclusions: The smile does not influence people's personality, for the reason that they are not affected or by the size of their teeth or gums. It was mentioned that smoking is a bad habit that stains the teeth.
