Abstract

The following research aims to analyze the effects of the fall of modern meta-stories, the pluralization of the father and nihilism in the multiple meanings that subjects give of God, through a psychoanalytic, philosophical, and sociological reading of the different faces that God acquires today. By means of a qualitative method that consists of a bibliographic review and the analysis of the interviews carried out with professionals, it is possible to articulate the three lines of research proposed. The influence of the fall of meta-stories in the postmodernity is evidenced as it marks the beginning of the deinstitutionalization of religion for mankind, who will rather seek a personal God; the pluralization of the father as a condition for the search for new referents and nihilism as a threat of encountering a void of meaning, to which the subject responds strongly.
