| Résumé: | Telemedicine is an innovative way to continue access to health services in developing countries, being considered a tool of great potential to meet a large part of the health needs of the Ecuadorian population, allowing the exchange of information between the patient and physician for the diagnosis, prevention, and control of diseases. The objective of our study was to evaluate the results of consultations by telemedicine of the patients of the IRHED of the city of Guayaquil in the year 2020. A sample of 60 patients attended in IRHED by telemedicine was studied, to whom the Telehealth Usability Questionnaire was applied (TUQ) translated into Spanish. The results regarding the satisfaction of telemedicine in the young adult was mean = 5.92 (SD: 1.38) and in the older adult mean = 5.5 (SD: 1.73); and in the preference to telemedicine, young adults obtained a mean = 6.25 (SD: 1.36) and the elderly with a mean = 5.63 (SD: 1.76). In conclusion, no statistically significant difference was found to affirm that young adult patients have a preference for medical consultation via telemedicine in contrast to older adults. |
| Description: | La telemedicina es una forma innovadora para continuar el acceso a los servicios de salud en los países en vías de desarrollo, siendo considerada una herramienta de gran potencial para atender gran parte de las necesidades de salud de la población ecuatoriana permitiendo el intercambio de información entre el paciente y el médico para el diagnóstico, prevención, y control de las enfermedades. El objetivo de nuestro estudio fue evaluar los resultados de consultas por vía telemedicina de los pacientes del IRHED de la ciudad de Guayaquil en el año 2020. Se estudió una muestra de 60 pacientes atendidos en IRHED por vía telemedicina, a quienes se aplicó el cuestionario Telehealth Usability Questionnaire (TUQ) traducido al español. Los resultados acerca de la satisfacción de telemedicina en el adulto joven fue prom=5,92(DE: 1,38) y en el adulto mayor prom= 5,5(DE:1,73); y en la preferencia a la telemedicina los adultos jóvenes obtuvieron un prom=6,25(DE: 1,36) y el adulto mayor con prom=5,63(DE: 1,76). En conclusión, no se encontró diferencia estadísticamente significativa para afirmar que los pacientes adultos jóvenes tienen preferencia a la consulta médica vía telemedicina a diferencia de los adultos mayores. |
