Abstract

The present work is based on the clinical analysis of the Magdalena case. A neurotic patient of a hysterical nature, who comes to consultation after the decision to separate her husband from her. During the sessions Magdalena, believes that she cannot bear so much pain, the decision made by her husband is inadmissible and sudden. She highlights several significant events from her childhood and love life, in which she takes possession from her past relationships to her current one as a wretched and not chosen woman. Despite the fact that she, during the sessions, describes herself as a tolerant and accommodating woman like her mother was, Magdalena is not reciprocated with any love. For her, her infidelities usually pass, but her abandonment and separation from her cause him a lot of pain. Likewise, it speaks of several memories linked to her childhood that highlight the fear of dark places and sexuality in Magdalena. This being the case, it is possible to show through the path of the symptom, her discomfort and the constant position that Magdalena takes in relation to the Other, that great other who completes her and hopes to receive from him the frustrating non-response.
