Abstract

In Ecuador, most school administrators and teachers are unfamiliar about Gifted Education and Talent development. This fact has brought as consequence the lack of knowledge to detect and motivate this type of students to satisfied their learning special needs. The research main concept is Gifted Education and all the work will be related to explain how to start a detection process and analyze an option to develop the found talent in school. Students of the “Escuela Particular Universidad Católica” which are in eighth, nineth and tenth grades will take two psychometric tests to identify giftedness. The project will end with a pilot program for the DECE department. The results will be the information that school psychologists have to analyze through educational and social psychology including psychoanalytic theories aspects.
