Limitaciones del quehacer del psicólogo clínico en el contexto hospitalario. Criterios generales que orienten una adecuada práctica preprofesional.

Abstract

In carrying out this work, it was possible to verify that there are different difficulties that limit the tasks of the clinical psychologist in hospital contexts, whose evaluated circumstances respond to a level of health, social and of course psychological, this was done through bibliographic compilation, observation field trips and interviews with medical professionals and psychologists. In this research journey, medical, psychological and social approaches were captured, where the objective of this research was achieved, the same one that was aimed at: analyzing the lack of knowledge of the professional role, the unfavorable institutional conditions for work and the difficulty to articulate the appropriate clinical method in each case, in the limitations of the work of the clinical psychologist in a hospital context, through the data obtained in a field investigation carried out in a General Hospital of Guayaquil. The central method of this study was the bibliographic one, where grounded theory was used, the opinion of relatives and patients was also taken into account, in addition to health professionals, clinical psychologists and alumni. This allowed a better understanding of those limitations in the tasks of the psychologist due to institutionalization. It is obtained as a result of this investigation that the lack of knowledge of the role, the unfavorable institutional conditions and the difficulty in articulating the appropriate clinical method are limitations of the psychologist's work, depending on certain institutional factors. In conclusion, seven general criteria are elaborated for an adequate pre-professional practice, which will later serve as a foundation for an ethical and appropriate professional practice as a clinical psychologist.
