El diagnóstico médico infantil incurable y su influencia en la vida de los padres a nivel psicológico.

Abstract

The general objective of the present study was to determine the influence of the incurable infant medical diagnosis and its psychological effects on the parental couple. The work was carried out with a qualitative and descriptive approach. For data collection, the interview technique was used, carried out with parents who have children with a diagnosis of incurable disease at the Dr. Roberto Gilbert Elizalde Hospital in the city of Guayaquil. The work finally includes the description of the cases, as well as the triangulation of the results obtained through the semi-structured interview guide, the study highlights the affectation that parents have with respect to their daily routines, their family dynamics; in the individual aspect, they are overwhelmed by negative feelings and demotivation; finally, the importance of maintaining the parental role is highlighted, as well as the family adaptation, adjusting to the diagnosis, accepting it and living together beyond it to guarantee an adequate psychological health in parents and children.
