Análisis de las dimensiones del síndrome de Burnout en el personal docente de la UCSG de la carrera de enfermería, periodo octubre 2022 a febrero 2023.

Abstract

The "Burnout" Syndrome is considered as a complex emotional state that originates due to an overload of stress, which over time can have a significant impact on personal fulfillment, depersonalization and emotional exhaustion of teaching staff. Objective: To analyze the dimensions of Burnout syndrome in the teaching staff of the Santiago de Guayaquil Catholic University of the nursing career, period October 2022 to February 2023. Methodology: descriptive, quantitative, prospective, cross-sectional. Population: 36 professors of the nursing career of the UCSG. Technique: Survey, Instrument: Maslach Burnout Iventory Questionnaire. Results: In relation to the characteristics, it is identified that 69% of teachers are men, while 47% are between 30 and 39 years old. In addition, 31% have 1 to 3 years of teaching experience, with 47% holding a Master's degree and working in a single location. When using the Maslach Inventory, it stands out that 50% of the teachers show a high level of emotional exhaustion, 53% report a high level of depersonalization, and 50% show a high level of low personal fulfillment. Conclusion: Within the totality of teachers in the nursing career, it was revealed through the Maslach Inventory that 44% had an intermediate level of Burnout Syndrome. It is imperative to implement measures to encourage the creation of environments that relieve stress and promote teacher well-being.
