Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate and analyze the importance of VAT refunds to senior citizens and the impact of the benefit on their quality of life. Various investigations were carried out on the object of study. As a main point, the problem and the background that led to research and inquire into articles of the laws of Ecuador in order to identify the point of study were analyzed, each of the reforms that have been carried out over time on the subject of VAT refunds to senior citizens was analyzed and in this way, the study carried out was updated for the knowledge of people interested in the subject, the items that participate in this VAT refund were described. This thesis shows a broad vision regarding the VAT refund to older adults and how this impacts their quality of life. It is expected that it will contribute to the knowledge of those adults or people who help them in the process to access this refund, so that they can apply it and be informed that this tax will not disappear since it is intended for the vulnerable group of the population, which is supported by the laws of the State.
