La masculinidad hegemónica y su impacto en la construcción del ser hombre en sujetos con hemofilia.

Abstract

The research project, "Hegemonic Masculinity and Its Impact on Identity in the Construction of Being a Man," had as its general objective to identify the effects of the discourse of hegemonic masculinity on the construction of being a man in individuals with hemophilia, in order to understand the concept of new masculinities. The significance of this research lies in how men with hemophilia can create their masculine identity within a culture that reproduces and reinforces hegemonic ideals of what it means to be a man. The methodology followed a qualitative approach, specifically within the interpretive paradigm and using a descriptive method. Data was obtained through documentary research and biographical interviews with five men with hemophilia. Ultimately, the study results showed that men with hemophilia are compelled to redefine what it means to be a man, based on the realities of their life condition.
