Abstract

The present work on infantilization and its ravages in the construction of the image in adolescents with growth retardation and chronic kidney disease carriers, had as its main objective to analyze infantilization and its ravages in the construction of the image in adolescents with growth retardation and chronic kidney disease carriers, through the descriptive method for a possible clinical practice with adolescents. The relevance of this research lies in that it may have a positive contribution by being able to help other professionals to evidence in time this type of population that suffers from that phenomenon, such as infantilization and even to be able to specifically help future clinical psychologists who are in different institutions, whether health or education, where they can identify an individual who goes through the same situation. This work was carried out from the qualitative approach, in a descriptive way to be able to evidence how infantilization is encouraged and the different contexts in which it is noted. It is through this, that it was possible to point out that not only the patients are affected, but also the relatives when they find a chronic diagnosis in their children. The institution plays a fundamental and important role as the Other, as do parents and referents. Likewise, the construction of the image does not occur in an adequate manner, since that image of childhood does not fall and remains stagnant. The practice among several is a category that was used to achieve work from the symptom and the suffering. Thus, achieving an adequate approach from the medical, psychological, nutritional, among others.
