Abstract

Don't Forget Me is a short psychological drama that portrays grief through the eyes of a father, exploring the depression and loss that accompanies the death of a child. It reveals the raw and dark emotional and physical toll that a single memory can take. The film uses aspect ratio changes to visually depict the stages of grief experienced by the protagonist, Dalia, highlighting, through minimal dialogue, how memories are not always what they seem and how the lack of reality in the face of tragedy can lead us to feel guilty about something beyond our control. Don't Forget Me aims to show how difficult it is to move on when a loved one is gone, but that accepting the reality of that love keeps the memory of that loved one alive, and that nothing can break that bond.
