Abstract

The present research analyzed whether the voice as object a emerges as an effect of transference in the analytical device. The importance of this exploration lay in its contribution of theoretical, analytical and clinical content, from a psychoanalytic orientation. The study sought to characterize the voice as object a from the Lacanian theory, explaining how the position of professionals who sustain their clinical practice, oriented by psychoanalysis, makes it possible to establish transference, exploring the relationship between the voice as object a and the analytical device sustained by transference. This research employed a descriptive method, encompassing qualitative approaches of a theoretical-clinical approaches; likewise, it included a review of bibliographic sources oriented toward theoretical contributions from psychoanalysis, as well as semi-structured interviews with five participants. The results obtained in this research reflected that the voice as object a does not emerge as an effect of transference; transference is not presented as a necessary condition for it to emerge, nor as a cause, rather, it can come into play in the subject’s human relationships, always with a charge of jouissance given to its status as a drive object. However, through the analytic device and transference, it is possible to circumscribe the voice as object a through the analyst’s interventions. The voice as object a is situated on the side of non-sense, as a remnant that is impossible to symbolize, yet capable of being circumscribed, which resonates in a singular way in the subject’s history and presents itself as an imperative or aphonic voice, without precise meaning, yet one that produces effects when returned by the Other.
